Tevita’s final journey home.

It is with a heavy heart that on behalf of my family, I have had to update our gofundme page.

Tevita took his last breath on the 26th of January surrounded by family. While this was set up to help with costs for his recovery, this will now be used to take Tevita home on his final journey, to be surrounded by his wife and children so can they have the chance to farewell him.

I have kept the previous statement up if you would like to see a glimpse into how hard he fought and the love and respect we all had for him.

Every cent goes a long way and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the help.

Our family member, Tevita Manumanunitoga (Tamai Tukana), was found basically parallelised and incoherent on Boxing Day. After calling the ambulance he was taken to the hospital where he was put on life support. He finally started making some progress and we thought he was on the way up, only to learn that after a week of being in a ward Tevita was back on life support in the ICU.

Tevita is a kind, caring and loving man. Among our loud family he is known to be soft spoken, reserved and gentle, a man of few words. Tevita is always ready to help when it is needed, whether it be family or friends, his generosity is felt by many!

He works hard in Australia to help his family back home in Fiji but, due to circumstances, medicare won't cover his hospital stay and recovery, which is already over $50,000 so far, with a long way to go. So, to help him with the costs we are asking for some help, any small amount can go a long way. Our hope is to let Tevita recover without any added stress.
