Devin Winter was such a special young man, to so many of us that no words will ever accomplish what I am trying to do here. He means so very much to so many people. It is hard to fathom the loss that we will all be forced to endure as we cope with the loss of such an indomitable spirit. Devin had a smile that was effortless, a laugh that was contagious, and an energy which infected those around him. His love for wrestling and the St. Cloud Wrestling family was authentic and surely helped hold us all together in down times. He enjoyed his teammates and the toughest elements of the sport. The camaraderie he shared with the other boys on the team was genuine and it helped forge the foundation for Bulldogs of today even after he had graduated. In an effort to give back to the program, Devin spent many an afternoon, time that most boys spend enjoying freedom, working with the team as an associate coach and tirelessly helped to pass on some of the knowledge he had worked so hard to attain. His sacrifice was just a small glimmer into the spirit of a young man who was all heart. This GoFundMe memorial account has been set up in Devin’s name, per the request of his family. It is the request of the family that funds be donated into this account as opposed to being spent on flowers because that is what Devin would be happiest with. All funds collected will be used to support to young men of the St. Cloud Wrestling team as they endeavor to grow in the sport that Devin loved. In this way, his legacy will live on forever.
