Update: Hello everyone! Words can't describe how grateful I am to each and every one of you, but I will admit I am not surprised. As long as I have known Devin, he has always had so many people in his corner supporting him. I wanted to give a quick update on his condition as I know many are wondering.
Devin remains hospitalized, this Friday, July 7th will be 3 weeks. They are hopeful he will be discharged to a rehabilliation center to continue his various therapies soon, but when that will offically happen remains to be seen. He has had several surgeries to correct the broken bones in his limbs. He is making progress doing small tasks for himself but won't be able to walk on his own for a while. He will need the aid of different medical equipment for the foreseeable future.
Although this year has been filled with one event after the next for him and his family, he lost his mother at the end of January, Reginald passed in April, and now this accident, He is still maintaining his famous keep calm and carry on demeanor. The road ahead is still uncertain, but his spirits have not wavered.
I will continue to update and I am hopeful for the next one to be when he has received the green light to be discharged and head to the rehab center.
Hello, my name is Chaveli Torres. Devin Driskell and I have been friends for 25 years. He is one of my dearest friends and one of the best people I have ever known.
Last Friday, June 16, Devin was in a terrible motorcycle accident. He was thrown from his bike and has suffered multiple broken bones and fractures. He has now been hospitalized in the ICU for a week and has undergone several surgeries. There is no set time frame for him to be released just yet.
Devin is well known and loved in various communities across the state of Georgia. He has had a passion for music his entire life which lead him into music education. He has taught band in Taylor County and Clarke County. He is the grandson of Willie Talton, who was the sheriff of our hometown Warner Robins for many years.
Devin has touched so many lives in so many communities. It is my hope that now Devin's communities can come together to support him, his wife Zadie and their boys in this extremely difficult time.
