Hi folks, my name is Tommy and I will be doing two running challenges this year (119.224km total) in aid of cancer care west.

This past year hasn’t been easy on anyone and it can only be described as the worst of times. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about something positive that I could do. Something that would be a right graft. So I’ve decided to run a marathon and a 4x4x48 challenge(77km) this year in aid of CancerCareWest.

Challenge #1 Marathon (42km) Nov. 13th 2021

Challenge #2 @davidgoggins 4x4x48 challenge (77.244km) Dec 2021. 

 CancerCareWest is a charity that offers professional support services to cancer patients and their families. The charity’s vision is that nobody should have to go through cancer alone. The charity provides both accommodation and support services for patients and their families. 

In 2019, my dad, Joe Devery (RIP) raised 500€ towards the charity. He did this by collecting donations in the scrapyard from customers, friends and family. That day he was on his way to an appointment where his cancer unfortunately returned. Joe sadly passed away in January of this year and he is deeply missed every day by so many who had the pleasure to have known him. 

Hopefully, this might be a nice way to raise some needed funds for a brilliant charity in the west of Ireland that has helped many families across the country including our own.
