My friend Devendra was a cheerful and down to earth person. He was from Pune, India and supported his wife, Dhanashree (a stay-at-home mom) and a 14 year old son, Neel. He was working at IBM, Pune before he moved to the Bay Area in April 2018 to start work at PG&E as a Senior Project Manager.

Devendra always had a passion for road trips and bikes. He loved going on road trips with friends, and has explored a lot of India on his bike. He wanted to continue this passion to explore different parts of California.
On the 16th of June, he had rented a Harley Davidson Heritage (one of his dream bikes), to take a trip to Point Reyes, a scenic drive 30 miles north of San Fransisco. When on his way back, he met with an accident at San Rafael and died on the spot. Here are some news reports which describe the accident in more detail.

His wife and son are currently in India and are finding it hard to cope with the loss. Having heard the news but not seeing the body yet, it is getting difficult for them to believe the fact that he is no more. His wife is devastated as Devendra was the sole bread earner in the family. She now has a daunting task of raising her son all by herself ahead of her.

We need your help! We plan to raise at least $10,000 to send his body and belongings back home to India so his family can see him for one last time and handle his final rites in India.
