This gentlemen here is my son Deven and he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis the week before Christmas of 2018. Since then his life and the life of his family has been completely flipped upside down. My son is a very hard working man who has worked since the day he was legal to (and was mowing lawns and helping neighbors from a young age before that). He has been the sole income earner for his family of four since their first daughter, Aurora, was born 12 weeks premature in 2016. Shortly after his MS diagnosis their second daughter, Athena, was born 9 weeks premature as well in March of 2019.
Deven’s first year since diagnosis has been a difficult one. He had back to back flares for nearly a year, at one point leaving him numb from his sternum down and eyesight blurry. Physically this disease has irrevocably changed his physical abilities, and mentally him and his wife are still trying to navigate his diagnosis and figure how the future while dealing with the financial burdens this disease has left them with.
Deven is a good and very fun daddy, and is the guy you call when you need help and he will drop whatever he is doing (unless he is dancing the ballerina dance with his daughter!) and come to your aid. This time him and his family are in need of help and because they are too proud to do so I'm asking you.
I am asking you as his Mom, if you would be willing to assist this family. I'm not asking for you to give much, but anything would be of help.
