We’re the PTFA at St Michaels RC Primary School — a close-knit, vibrant school community that believes every child deserves the best start in life. We’re launching this fundraising campaign to develop our outdoor play areas and invest in high-quality, long-term play equipment that will benefit current and future pupils for years to come.

Why Are We Fundraising?

Outdoor play is essential for children’s development — physically, socially, and emotionally. It sparks imagination, builds resilience, and promotes healthy lifestyles. Sadly, our existing outdoor spaces had run its course after 10 years and we are in need of a significant refresh. Some equipment is worn, outdated, or no longer suitable for the age and needs of our children including the trim trail course which has been removed for health and safety reasons.

We want to create exciting, safe, and inclusive play areas that encourage all children to explore, play, and grow — whatever the weather!

What Will the Funds Go Towards?

Your generous donations will help us:

Install long-lasting, sustainable play structures

Create sensory and imaginative play zones

Add active play equipment

Introduce nature-based and loose parts play

Make the playground more accessible and inclusive for all

How Much Do We Need?

We are aiming to raise £4,500. Every penny raised will go directly towards improving the outdoor provision at the school, ensuring that it supports learning, wellbeing, and creativity during playtimes and beyond.
