Develop the Next Generation of Assisted Living Leaders

If you've ever arranged for a Parent, Sibling, or Friend to become a Resident in an Assisted Living Facility, you know how challenging this can be for both You and Your Loved One. Personally, I've been involved with Assisted Living Communities in 2 states over the years, starting in 2003. I've Managed facilities, worked as Facilities' Activity Director, I teach the required Assisted Living Managers Certification Class for the State of Texas and NCCDP's Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Classes nationally. Today I live in an Assisted Living Facility. In my 20+ years being involved in the Assisted Living arena, I've noticed some important considerations that I want to solve/resolve and I'm hoping You will help this passion project come to life. It's my opinion that an incredible number of ALFs have solid revenue, but their margins are almost invisible. Those who manage most often have big hearts and got into the Assisted Living Business because they truly want(ed) to help. However, business and management education is often in short supply and CareGivers (who are the glue in all AL facilities) work the hardest, make the least income and [surprising to me] often don't consider themselves as potential Leaders. Many work more than one job to meet their family and living obligations, leaving little time to work toward a Leadership Role. What they do every day would tire most of us out before our shift was even half way done.
OKAY...so that's why I'm writing this...I have founded [with the help of many Friends] the Assisted Living Leadership Institute.
Potential Class Members are CareGivers with 4 - 12 years experience.
Accepted Class Members, when they successfully complete the ALLI curriculum will have 3 sets of initials after their names [C.A.L.M., CDP AND LEADERSHIP] and a much brighter future in front of them...and they'll teach others what they have learned and while positively growing this amazing profession.
Those who forecast workforce needs tell us the need for CareGivers is IMMENSE and GROWING EXPONENTIALLY...not just in our state or country, but around the World...
Our Mission at ALLI [Assisted Living Leadership Institute] is to flood the Senior Industry Market with Qualified and Experienced Managerial Talent who will then create positive, enjoyable and reasonably paid employment for the CareGivers they select and hire in their facilities...you know the ones we hope we can find should we need them.
For those currently managing facilities, ALLI's process will give them qualified back-up and for the former CareGivers, they will realize how amazing the work they do every day truly is and continue to make it even more fulfilling...for all.
Our first Cohort is scheduled for Spring of 2026. I hope You will help us make what You may someday need the reality you hope for (for Yourself, Your Loved Ones AND the Seniors You Know).
I hope You will join us in this incredibly exciting and productive endeavor.
THANK YOU, in advance.
