Hi, my name is Josh and I've been a digital collector and content creator in the VeVe community for roughly 4 years now.
Imagine a place where your digital collectibles are living parts of a vibrant world. That’s the vision behind Collectopia. A new social gaming platform designed for collectors to showcase their collections and socialize with other collectors.
In Collectopia, you’ll be able to:
- Showcase your collection inside your own personalized home space.
- Travel to immersive worlds built around unique social and gaming experiences.
- Play mini-games, relax with friends, or explore.
Why We’re Raising Funds
All components of this platform have been mapped out and planned for (dashboards, mini-games, building features, etc). Your support will help us bring Collectopia to life by covering the early development costs to hire a developer who can connect everything.
Right now, most platforms being developed for collectors share a few problems:
- They are biased toward their own tokens or collectibles
- None of them truly fit the vision we have for what Collectopia can become: a platform built for collectors first
- Development on VeVe’s virtual world, the VeVeVerse, has been too slow, leaving collectors waiting for an experience that should already be here.
- I believe a richer, smoother, and more exciting world can be created in Unreal Engine, instead of relying on Cavrnus (the platform VeVe currently uses for the VeVeVerse).
That’s why I’m building Collectopia: to create the space that collectors deserve, without compromise. Our long-term goal is to present Collectopia to digital collecting platforms to connect their digital collectibles directly into the platform.
Why It Matters
The digital collecting community is growing, but most platforms being built have some sort of bias towards their own collectibles and/or token. Collectopia changes that, and focuses solely on creating an experience collectors want to come back to. To do this, we must provide unique ways for collectors to showcase and interact with their collectibles, plus provide things to do in the worlds they travel to.
