I met Mike over one year ago and he actually began working for me as a Maintenance Director at an Assisted Living Community. He goes above and beyond to help anymore who he meets.
He is just a blessing and a huge advocate for others who are in need. He often will give someone the last penny and his food. He will not eat if someone else is hungry. He adopted a son Preston who is a handful but a loving little boy and his wife, Cheri is a gem.
He is everyone's "Uncle Mike!" He is well loved and respected.
For about two months, I noticed that he wasn't looking just right and when I asked him he would always reply " I'm ok." I knew he wasn't feeling great and I told him to go to the doctor. He finally went and the doctor told him he needed a hip and knee replacement. we knew that was not right and insisted he go to someone else. Cheri found a wonderful doctor and that where everything started to crumble..........
He was diagnosed with stage 4 Bone Cancer and since his diagnosis has been paying out of pocket for all the tests, medical appointments and that doesn't include any other treatment.
We all know how challenging it is to work full time, pay all the family bills, take care of your family and just LIVE!
