On August 10th, 2020 Iowa was among five other states that experienced a ferocious hurricane like wind and torrential rain storm. My cousins were three of many households in rural Iowa who experienced devastation from over 90 mph winds for 30 life changing minutes. Several buildings and silos were severely damaged and demolished, equipment ruined, garage blown away, hundreds of acres of corn and soybean crops destroyed and destruction to the shelters for hundreds of farm animals. I am asking you to join me in donating to help rebuild the family farm.
Many of you know when I was 17 years old, I boarded an Amtrak train and moved to Mechanicsville, Iowa. At that time, life had very little meaning to me and I was far from being on the right track. My cousins gave me a second chance.  With their support, structure and love, I turned things around and found meaning to life once again. I am forever grateful for them and want to give back.
