After having just dealt with a major health problem, and dealing with the heavy financial burden that followed, this beautiful family has been struck by an unimaginable tragedy. Grandma (matriarch of the family and everyone's second mom) was with her brother and three grandchildren when a freak accident caused a powerful fire that Grandma and her youngest grandchild could not escape. Due to the heroic actions of the Great Uncle, and the unfathomable strength of the young children, they were able to get to safety. Both the children are recovering in the hospital and their Great Uncle is showing admirable resilience as he fights for his life at Sunnybrook. I hope you are as lucky as I am to have known them so close for so many years, but if not, I can assure you that this is the strongest, most honest and hardworking family you will ever meet. They welcome all with open arms and will give you the shirt off their backs to make sure everyone is OK.
