Hi my name is Melanie and Im hoping to get some much needed help for my friends Tyler & Fawn. On August 3, 2023 at around 10:30am the neighbors house exploded and quickly was engulfed by flames, which led to Tyler & Fawns house which was directly next door to also catch on fire. During the initial explosion it blew the windows out in their house, blew cabinets off the walls and eventually caught fire on the side of the house which led to flames coming into the house. Firefighters had to knock 2 holes in the roof and the water level in the basement alone was up to their knees. The house is now condemned due to water, smoke and fire damage throughout the inside and outside of the house.. there isnt much that has been able to be saved yet so far. These kids have been through so much, in late February they sadly lost their mom unexpectedly and have been trying to grieve and learn how to go about life without their only support system. The morning of this explosion i seen nothing but devastation, hopelessness and sadness in their eyes, they have no idea what to do, where to go, where to begin. This was their home, their comfort, the place where memories with their mom are no longer. Unfortunately they were renting and did not have renters insurance, the red cross gave them enough money to stay at a motel for 2 nights but that was it. They dont have any family to stay with, they have had to rehome their animals due to being homeless, they have slept in their car with the back seat covered in some belongings. They are currently going minute by minute, they have gone and just sat at the curb in front of their condemned home because they are lost. Please help me get them some help with knowing they have a place to lay their heads at night.. we would never ask anyone for help like this but at this point ive called every county and state agency, disaster relief and community agency ive found or been told about..no help is available and red cross has given what was available, we are grateful for everything and anything we can get help with but at this time our main focus is a place for them to stay until their home is repaired or they find a new place to live. We know times are tough on everyone and we dont expect the world but if you could at least share this in hopes someone somewhere may be able to help them find a place to live so that they know they have something to come home to after work, they would be forever grateful! Every little bit counts and matters, if you dont feel comfortable giving cash and would rather pay the motel directly that can also be arranged we just need to make them feel safe and secure and know that they have a place to go to. The worry on their faces and in their voices is painful.
