Devastating Fire at Holcomb's Haven Homestead

Donation protected
Hello, friends. I'm Mandy, sister to Jamie, farm manager of Holcomb's Haven Homestead.

At 3:52 a.m. EST on Friday, May 22, Jamie learned that the barn where she was brooding over 350 chickens and turkeys for the upcoming summer market season burned to the ground.

Last year, Jamie left the corporate world to dedicate herself wholly to pursue her dream to farm full-time. Like all small, family farmers, Jamie has been working 24/7 to prepare for the upcoming summer market season. Looking to grow her farm business, Jamie applied for and was accepted into five markets (after having only participated in one last season!).

To prepare for this growth, she invested in 440 birds.

80% of them were lost to the fire.

Jamie also lost thousands of pounds of feed and other tools that may not be replaced by insurance.

Time is of the essence.

The summer market season is in full swing. Jamie needs help now to save her summer market season - her livelihood.

Your donation will be used to purchase chicks, brooding supplies, feed, and other necessities to begin to replace what was lost in the fire.

Insurance coverage will likely cover damages to the barn and major farm equipment, but the process will take a long time. Too long for Jamie to wait as the summer market season is happening now.

Thank you for considering a gift to help Jamie save her summer season.

Jamie lost 50 turkeys, 100 mature chickens, 200 chicks, and thousands of pounds of feed.

A gift of:
-- $25 covers the cost of a whole chicken, sold at market
-- $100 covers the cost of a whole, medium-sized turkey, sold at market
-- $250 replaces an average day of market sales
-- $500 will cover the cost of the lost feed.

Our first goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the lost market revenue of losing 50 turkeys.

From my family to yours, thank you for considering a gift today.
