Hi there - My name is Alexis Carmichael. I'm writing this Go-Fund for my brother on behalf of his loved ones. Donations will be provided for Devan Carmichael towards his fight with his traumatic brain injury, called diffuse axonal injury (DAI). The donation will go towards his medical bills and recovery.

Let's first talk about who Devan is to give you a deeper insight into who you'll be donating to:

Devan is first a dad. His only child and son who’s almost 3 years old, in November. It'll be just roughly 2 weeks from the time of writing this. Devan's nothing less than what you'd consider the loyal and loving "I'll be here no matter what and do anything it takes" kind of dad... In every way as a father. To paint you a picture, imagine two people who are so often happily preoccupied in the moment they're in; regardless of where they're at, they disappear into their happy little world. That's what everyone sees when he's with his boy... His son is the number one priority in his life.

As a matter of fact, Devan tends to be the proud, loving, and loyal, "I'll be here no matter what, and do anything it takes" kind of man with practically all aspects of his life.

He is a proud tow truck driver. Saying "he loves his job" would simply be an understatement. Nothing less than obsession and dedication... Working hours not many others desire, many days taking extra shifts to provide for his family, and for the fact his work is a major passion of his... When you catch Devan outside of work, he's generally squeezing in an opportunity to tell you all about it.

Devan is a son to William & Tara Carmichael, and Lennette & John Crumet, a loving boyfriend to his girlfriend Kimberly Moore. He's a brother to all of his sisters; Alexis Carmichael, Torrey Carmichael, Kayla Chase, and Claire. and who he would jokingly consider his " it's almost official!" "first" brother, Ryan Cowart. He's a friend to many others, most of whom he would consider his family.

Devan is a family-oriented guy. With a happy-go-lucky, optimistic, and yet often stubborn personality. He's the first to offer his helping hand, easy to forgive, and impossible to keep still. He is persistent with getting to his next goal, whatever that be in any part of his day-to-day life.

Devans' Accident:

Oct. 22, 2022.

Devan was in a catastrophic dirtbike accident. He was ultimately diagnosed with DAI (Diffuse Axonal Injury). DAI is a major brain injury, along with many broken bones; shattered collar bone and fractured forearm. Devan is currently in SICU, and he has been in a state of unconsciousness since his accident, with promising improvements since. Per his medical teams' discovery, he will require intensive and extensive care for months to come.

We are still in the planning and healing phase right now as Devan makes improvements every day toward his recovery.
