DEVANE JAMES FUNERAL FUND
Donation protected
To the Family and Friends of Devane James,
Life is precious and sometimes we forget how precious it is until we lose someone very close to our hearts. On August 8, 2020, we lost someone dear to us, our precious Devane James. My mom lost a son, my sister and I lost a brother and my niece and nephews lost a great uncle and for the others in his life lost a cousin, a nephew, a grandson, and a dear friend. I didn’t realize that when I said good night to him on August 7th, that would be the last time I would see him alive. Devane, was the kind of person that likes to sleep in late and we never thought anything of it, it was just one of those days. My 3-year niece, as usual, would go and wake her uncle up, but this time he didn’t get up to say good morning to her. She came to my mom and told her, “uncle is not waking up.” When we went to check on him, we realized he was gone from us.
Devane has warmed our hearts with his kind ways and the smiles he brought to us every time to brighten our days. Everywhere he went people were drawn to his spirit. His soothing voice helped to calm you when going through a tough situation. He always saw the positive side of things and would encourage you to never give up. His love for God has sustained him; he knew that his strength came from God. One of the last postings on Facebook was a song from King and Country called “Shoulders” which talks about our help comes from God. God was his everything and we know that Devane is truly resting in peace.
Devane was preparing to go back to college to finish his degree to build a great career to help our mom that she wouldn’t have to work anymore. However, the untimely passing has now made it impossible. Our father passed away when we were very young and mom became both our father and mother. We called him the “Family Protector” because he always vows to take care of our mom and protect his family at all costs. My brother, my friend and my protector will be sorely missed.
You may be asking why am I writing to you about my loved one? As you can likely imagine, these times have not been friendly to my family in terms of finances. We would love nothing more than to give Devane a great homegoing funeral service, but we cannot do so alone. Every donation will get us closer to putting Devane to rest peacefully.
Unfortunately due to Covid-19, the funeral service will be private and we can only have family and few friends attend.
Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
With love,
Rhowan James
