Support & Love: Devaki’s Healing Journey w Cancer

Our most beautiful spirit sister, friend, artist, creator, weaver, mother, grandmother and wife, Devaki Thomas, has been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. We are all coming together in love and belief in her capacity to move through this and wrap her in healing light.

Devaki has been a force of love, connection, magic and beauty throughout her life. She has committed every moment to follow her passion, community, healing, connection and family.

She needs our support now. She is unable to work due to procedures, and her husband Thomas has greatly reduced his work to focus on her healing. She has lived her life following holistic nature-based healing modalities but due to the advanced nature of the cancer, medical intervention is needed and she hopes to augment with natural medicine and nutrition.

As musicians, creators and facilitators, they have dedicated their lives to the arts providing valuable resources and support for countless artists while building important community connections in Canada and the UK for 30 years.

Thomas simultaneously spent 15 years working in IT & Music consultation to provide a financial base for their family, while Devaki focused 6 years in education graduating with an MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy while continuing work in the arts.

2022 has been an incredibly fulfilling year with many long-fought-for projects coming to fruition, bringing renewed focus, work and passion.

Learning of this diagnosis on 2 September halted their many projects and contracts creating uncertainty. Life-long optimists and believers in the mystery/magic of life they are fighting with everything they have. Though living public lives they are private people and the decision to make this public has been difficult. As they slowly share their new reality, family and friends are rallying behind them and Devaki’s mother has come from northern Canada to live at their home in South East London.

During this time, they need us to be the co-creators of their security so they can focus on getting Devaki back to her full and vibrant self.

Devaki began the first step in her treatment last week. She will be accessing multiple forms of treatment and healing, which will be a lengthy process.

Please help ease the burdens of this time for Devaki and Thomas so they can feel the scope of the love from their community and focus on healing.
