Help Marie Beat AML

Donation protected
On August 4, 2014 Marie Williams was unexpectedly diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). Her Doctor informed her she needed to start treatment immediately, without treatment she would only have days to weeks to live. She was admitted into the hospital the next day and has been receiving care since.

The treatment and recovery process for this type of cancer is a long and rocky road. She will be going through multiple stages of chemo, blood transfusions, and possibly facing a stem cell transplant, which she may need to travel out of state to receive. Marie will be hospitalized for the next month and a half and in and out of the hospital for the next year. Which means she will not be able to work for the next 6 months to a year.

Marie is a young, single mother of two. Her wonderful sons, Joshua and Justin, have been at her side day and night throughout this whole ordeal. Unfortunately, both of them live in Lafayette and are unable to be with her as much as they would like. It has been a struggle for them being so far away from their mother, and commuting to and from Lafayette to New Orleans each week as much as they can.

The funding we raise will go toward accumulating medical bills, helping Marie keep her house along with utilities, travel expense for the many of trips back and forth to hospital for treatment, and help her sons get to her from Lafayette as frequently as they can. We are thankful for every donation no matter how small or large, every donation helps tremendously. Thanks for your support!
