Thank you so much for your support!
With your help we've been able to provide much needed PPE to all of the Detroit hospitals! Your generosity has also helped us cover nursing homes in Metro Detroit.
Our largest purchase thus far has been of N95 respirators. We've also been able to distribute donated KN95s.
We've made an incredible impact on Detroit's PPE shortage. But we need your help to continue to make Detroit safer for healthcare providers.
With our N95 purchase, we were only able to secure "regular" size masks. While these provide protection to many workers, others are unable to use this size: largely women providers.
Please help us continue to provide PPE to ALL our providers. We need to raise $7000 more dollars to get an equal size shipment of small size N95s!

Detroit has been hit particularly hard during the coronavirus pandemic. As of April 7, 2020, Detroit accounts for nearly 30% of the 19,000 cases in Michigan! In less than three weeks, the community has experienced 222 deaths.
This flood of cases has stretched the Motor City’s resources thin, especially the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) to our healthcare workers on the frontlines.
We need to do better for the providers taking care of us and our community. We are Detroit Strong - We CAN do better!
HOW?
Through Detroit ingenuity and determination.
Your donation will go towards the purchase of PPE such as:
· Disposable face masks
· N95 masks, KN95 masks
· Eye protection including face shields and safety goggles
· Fabric scrub caps
· Disposable gowns
· Disposable gloves, especially non-latex
· Disposable surgical caps
· Disposable foot covers
· Wipes: bleach or antimicrobial
· Hand sanitizer
· Powered air-purifying respirators and PAPR hoods
We will also be using your donations to 3D print PPE:
Student engineer Andres Artiles, and MD/PhD student Rafael Ramos, are working quickly to 3D print and assemble face shields. The completed face shields below have already been delivered and utilized by our healthcare workers in ICUs in the heart of Detroit! These wonderful humans are giving their brainpower and manpower to help solve the PPE shortage, donating will allow them acquire more materials and manufacture more!

What if I can’t donate cash? What can I do to help?
We are also accepting donations of opened and un-opened boxes of the above PPE!
We can accommodate any size of donations. If you have a connection for a freight load, we can organize a dock!
WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of medical students at Wayne State School of Medicine and Michigan State University COM. We love our city and take pride that we are learning to be future physicians here. We've learned from some of the world's best how important it is to exemplify the spirit of Detroit in embracing the challenges this community faces. Our community is especially susceptible to COVID-19 due to our large population of underinsured and under treated patients. As the pandemic has spread, we've witnessed our peers, colleagues, mentors, and leaders accept the call to action to serve in this crisis. This is a battle that needs support on all fronts and we want to do whatever we can to help in this dire time of need!
