Destiny’s fight round 2!

Hey,

I know a lot of people have followed Destiny’s story from the beginning but for those that haven’t here’s a bit about what this incredible girl has had to face.

Destiny was diagnosed with stage 2B cervical cancer back in July 2020 after a tumour the size of a tennis ball was found in her cervix.

She then started chemotherapy for 6 weeks followed by another 6 weeks but also with radiotherapy this time. On top of this, Destiny also had brachytherapy which is a type of radiation that targets the tumour more directly.

After undergoing all of this and going for numerous tests and scans continuously, Destiny was finally told she was in remission in December 2020.

Destiny has continued to raise awareness about cervical cancer and smear tests which brought a number of ladies together as part of a campaign in January and being part of a huge awareness campaign for MissPap . Destiny was a continuous support for us girls and a lot of others who have followed her and her story on social media (insta: bikinigirl_vs_cancer) and nothing is ever too much for her!

However in May, she knew something wasn’t right again so pushed for more tests and scans.

A biopsy was taken and this confirmed the news no one ever wants to hear.

Destiny had been in remission for nearly 7 months when we got the heartbreaking news of recurrence meaning her cancer has come back.

Slowly Destiny was starting to get her life back, getting herself back into training and the gym and done an awesome comeback photoshoot. She eventually got back into her job as a nurse on an oncology ward herself which she loves and was prepping for her big comeback bodybuilding show in September when she received devastating news

Her consultant informed her that the only way to hopefully cure this is to have major surgery. Radiotherapy is no longer an option and chemotherapy will just extend her life but will never cure the cancer.

This surgery involves a full hysterectomy. Due to radiation damage and the amount of scar tissue there is also a high possibility that her bowel and bladder will have to be removed leaving her with no other option than to have a stoma.

This surgery is going to require a long recovery period and a lot of rest.

Unfortunately due to Destiny having to take time off sick going through her initial treatment, this has left her with very little sick pay entitlement.

She still has all your usual bills to pay such as rent, electricity, gas etc and will be receiving the bare minimum eventually to live off.

I have set up this page to just raise as much money as we can to make Destiny’s fight and recovery all that much easier without her having to worry about how she is going to get by each month until she is fully back on her feet.

This girl has supported so so many others out there and has continued to raise awareness throughout her own battles. Anything you can donate is appreciated more than you will ever know.

Thank you x
