My beloved 22 year old daughter, Destiny, was rushed to the emergency room and was in critical care after someone called 911 when they found her unresponsive and in cardiac arrest in Houston, Tx on Dec. 20th.
She was without oxygen to the brain for an undetermined amount of time and over a period of 10 days, slowly deteriorated and was declared brain dead on Dec. 27th.
She had been an organ donor since the age of 18, so they kept her body on life support until Dec 30th, when she donated her organs and saved 6 lives! One of those being a 6 month old baby <3
We do not know all the details around why this happened, but we do know it was sudden, not expected, and she was taken too soon.
I have set up this gofundme because many friends, family members, and even those that are strangers, her story has touched and they have asked if they can help us in any way financially.
At first I declined, but since this journey has began and being a single mom with Destiny's 10 year old brother at home, the cost has becoming more than expected and can afford, especially since I live out of town. We had left right away when we got the call and had barely anything with us.
Destiny wanted to be cremated, and that has already been paid for. I am asking for help with outside costs for hotel/lodging, travel, food, parking costs, loss of income, unexpected costs that showed up, and and any unforeseen costs that may still.
I live 4 hours away from her and was staying in Houston for 2 weeks straight, plus needing to go back again for the funeral and finalize other things needed. I appreciate any help anyone can give. Even $5 can help.
Thank you to everyone who has shown concern and interest in Destiny and my family. The prayers and condolences during this time have been overwhelming.
I will update continue to update this post.
