BACKGROUND
In 2016, my wife Destiny, was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer. My high school sweetheart since we started dating in 1994, and loving mother of our two young children, now 7 and 4, was fighting this disease with everything she has. She wanted to see her children grow, she wanted to be working, she wanted to celebrate life with friends and loved ones.
Unfortunately, the disease continued to wreak havoc with her body, leaving her in a very fragile and weak state to which she ultimately succumbed. While we are lucky to have a large network of colleagues, friends and family to support us, there are ongoing expenses and other costs due to loss of income with which we could use some help. I am also concerned about our children, whether it be maintaining stability in their lives by being able to stay in our home, funding their education, and affording them a quality of life deserving of children faced with losing a parent.
Additionally, I want to be able to do for others, contributing towards expenses for other families undergoing the same struggle, supporting cancer treatment and awareness programs, as well as funding facility enhancements at designated treatment centers. Any monies received here would surely help towards getting that initiative off the ground.
