All - I believe most of you have heard the heartbreaking news that Lue Ann's 17-year-old daughter Destiny was killed in a car crash on Friday night. To show our love and support during this incredibly painful loss, we are honoring Destiny and the Ray family with the Destiny Ray Memorial Fund. Please donate if you can and keep the Ray family in your hearts and prayers.
In Lue Ann's own words:
Many of you are asking about what happened last night, and I will tell you what I know. My daughter called us at 8:34 pm to let us know she worked a little late because it was busy at the restaurant. Scotty, Dakota and I were on our way home from seeing a movie in Newnan. At 8:45/8:46 pm, we came up to a wreck about 1/2 mile from our house. A semi-truck driver was getting out of her wrecked truck. I tried to call Destiny but she didn’t answer so Scotty got out and ran over to find there was another vehicle in the wreck. The semi hit our daughter’s truck. In the 11 minutes since we talked to her (5 miles from the restaurant where she works to our front door), our daughter lost her life. The driver told us she was carrying too heavy of a load on the truck and the truck started to pick up speed. She lost control coming into the curve by our house and she went into our daughter's lane. It knocked my daughter's truck into a bank and trees. She didn’t stand a chance. It took them 5 hrs to get her out of her truck. Please remember her - she was fearless, tough, bossy, fiery, independent, and for those she cared about, she was their friend and warrior.
