Destination Procrastination for Global Finals 2024

Donation protected
Hello, fellow supporters and generous souls,

We are the proud members of "Destination Procrastination," a vibrant and enthusiastic middle school team hailing from Bedford, Massachusetts. We're reaching out to you with excitement and a humble request for your support as we embark on an incredible journey to the Destination Imagination Global Finals 2024 in Kansas City. Destination Imagination (DI) is a project based, kid-driven program that teaches kids to be innovative problem solvers. Using STEAM, teams of students collaborate, think outside the box and create unique solutions to one of seven different challenges in preparation for a fun, problem-solving competition.

Our team has worked tirelessly throughout the year, pouring our hearts and minds into preparing for this prestigious event. Through countless late nights, brainstorming sessions, and teamwork, we've honed our skills in problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. Our dedication has yielded remarkable results – we clinched the top spot in the Fine Arts Category in the state of Massachusetts. Moreover, we're thrilled to announce that we were also honored with the prestigious Renaissance Award for exceeding expectations in the challenge. Our contribution earned us a spot in the Global Finals, not only a momentous achievement for us but also for our school and community.

However, our journey has hit a roadblock – the financial barrier. As a middle school team, we lack the necessary funds to cover the expenses associated with travel, accommodations, and competition registration fees for the Global Finals.

This is where you come in, our cherished supporters. Your generosity and belief in the power of education and teamwork can make all the difference for us. By donating to our GoFundMe campaign, you're not just helping us reach Kansas City – you're investing in the future of a passionate group of young minds.

Every dollar counts, and no contribution is too small. Whether it's the price of a cup of coffee or a more significant donation, your support will have a profound impact on our journey and our lives.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, encouragement, and belief in our potential.

With gratitude,
Ridhi, Veronica, Farah, Nysha, Joshua, and Ansel

Meet the Team!
(from left to right)

Ridhi, age 14: I like to sing, dance, and travel in my free time. I also take part in my school choir and do traditional indian dance. I love to talk and collaborate with my peers on fun projects like DI. DI is a place where I can use my creativity and channel it into something meaningful and innovative. It allows me to explore my passions while working with others who share similar interests and aspirations.

Veronica, age 13: I like to read, listen to music, draw, and paint in my free time. I am in the orchestra, band, chorus, and the High School Marching Band. I am also in the school musical. I love DI because I get to spend time with my friends, working hard and being creative together.

Farah, age 13: I enjoy singing, dancing, and hanging out with friends. I am part of several clubs at school and love to collaborate with others. I love DI as it allows me to step out of my comfort zone and push myself to try something new. It allows me to work with others who have different personalities and perspectives.

Nysha, age 13: Whether it's playing my viola, dancing to diverse tunes, or sketching my world, or playing tennis, I love expressing myself. In eighth grade, I'm a key player in our team Destination Procrastination, a part of a STEM program called DI. I cherish DI because it's where I learn to tackle challenges head-on, transforming procrastination into innovation with every project.

Joshua, age 14: I like to read, play tennis, sing, and run in my free time. I am part of the school chorus and school track team. DI has given me the opportunity to collaborate and have fun with others who I would never have worked with otherwise. This year, our team has spent days (literally) together working on our script, props, and costumes.

Ansel: age 14: I play soccer, the string bass, sing, am part of various clubs, run track, and love listening to music. I love DI because it encourages me to think outside the box, but also because I get to work with teammates that have all sorts of interesting personalities and abilities. This year has been particularly rewarding because we've fine tuned our creative process and put in more effort than ever before in creating our skit/musical.
