Our daughter was a beautiful healthy, young active woman that loved life and all that it provided. She loved to be out with "the boys" (her father and her brothers) skimming and breathing in the beach air and so much more. She loved to care for others and it showed in her compassion as a nurse but on July 18th our world and her's forever changed. Her right lung collapsed while on vacation and the doctor's continued to say they don't even know why this happened. It usually occurs with trauma but it just happened.
The scariest part as a mother/parent was learning that she was a very lucky girl. If she would have waited any longer she would have stopped breathing. Life became real at that moment and hope and faith was all we had on our side. Our daughter faced multiple days in the hospital, multiple chest tubes, and had to have major surgery to repair the lung. She endured so much and as a mother it was the most difficult thing to go through, to be so helpless in helping your child. Our daughter has a long recovery ahead of her and learning how to live life the best way she can with her medical condition that came into the night like a nightmare. She so desperately wants to be back taking care of others instead of others taking care of her.
We are asking for assistance with our daughter because her hospital bills for 8+ days to include multiple x-rays, CT scans, surgery, doctor's appointments, therapy appointments, and parking fees that continue to add up for her. Unfortunately due to the length of her recovery, she is unable to perform her job due to it being so demanding and her recovery so extensive.
Although her recovery is extensive and she continues to work hard at it she also has many fears. We want her stress and anxiety of all her expenses to decrease so she can focus on just her recovery and her health. I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time out to read our daughter's story and any help provided whether it's in donation or prayers. All is greatly appreciated.
