Hi, my name is Jordan.
12 weeks ago, I sold my beautiful, spirited horse Kepala. She has the kindest soul—gentle, happy, fit, healthy, and rideable when she left me. The photos above show exactly how she was.
A few days ago, I received a devastating call. I was told she was being abused, neglected, and mistreated.
Since then, I’ve discovered she’s been illegally tethered on a park in Essex, alongside other horses that have now been reported to the RSPCA.
I arranged to see her. Straight away, things didn’t feel right—the new owner claimed she wasn’t there and was “hiding.” When Kepala was finally brought out, I barely recognised her.
In just 12 weeks, she has lost a huge amount of weight and condition. Her eyes are empty. She is completely shut down.
Her feet are in a terrible state—which is especially serious as she previously had a tendon injury that took 10 months of box rest to heal.
She now has new scars and wounds across her face, withers, and back. Her back is so painful I couldn’t even touch her without her flinching, swishing her tail, and trying to move away. She is clearly in agony.
She was standing in a 250g rug in 22-degree heat, with no water, tethered in a field.
Both front tendons are swollen and sore again. She also has lumps on her face that need urgent veterinary attention.
The most heartbreaking part is her spirit—she didn’t even lift her head when I called her. This is not the horse I loved.
I am desperate to bring her home so I can rehabilitate her properly—get her the veterinary care, physio, scans, and time she needs to heal. She will never be sold again. She deserves to live safely, surrounded by love, with her friends.
The current owner is demanding £2,200—the same amount they paid—to release her. Despite her condition, they will not budge.
I am terrified of what will happen to her if I can’t get her out. The place she is in is truly horrific—like the worst cases you see on TV. I don’t want to imagine what comes next for her if she stays there.
Please, I am asking for your help.
Please help me bring Kepala back to safety, love, and protection. Every second counts—she is suffering and in danger.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help save her life and give her a chance to heal.
If you can’t donate, please share—this could be what saves her.
Kepala is now home thanks to all of your donations. I still can’t get over how much help and support people have been and given all your donations coming in will continue to go towards her Vet bills and Physio. Thank you so much eternally grateful.❤️
