Desperate Times for Ron Mazzola

The Ron Mazzola we all know and love is not doing well. The pandemic has eliminated almost 80% of his business. As a small business owner, Ron finds himself in the unfortunate position of being ineligible for unemployment benefits or any other type of government assistance. And the part that makes this devastating is Ron’s health. With a heart as big as Ron’s, you wouldn’t think something might be wrong, but multiple stays in the hospital this past year leave him in desperate need of health insurance. The two life-extending heart procedures and multiple medications Ron needs leave him in the heartbreaking position of choosing between paying his medical bills or keeping a roof over his head.

I’m not the only one who loves Ron. For the past four decades, Ron has been a beloved and integral member of the New Jersey sports community, specifically Middlesex County. Ron has dedicated his life to youth and high school athletics. He’s even helped out Rutgers University. He’s been a coach, board member, mentor, director, and, most importantly, a volunteer. A volunteer who has given thousands upon thousands of hours of more than just manpower. He’s given his skills, talents, passion, and literally everything he has to offer. 

Living off savings this past year, Ron is running out of time with business showing no signs of picking up in the immediate future. Now Ron needs our help to change the direction of his health before we reach a point of no return. I have started this campaign with the hope of returning Ron to the best health possible. The funds raised will be used to help him with his past medical bills (including medical procedures he’s undergone and doctor’s appointments he’s maintained, all without insurance), upcoming premiums, deductibles, prescriptions, and expected hospital bills.  

We’ve been so lucky to have a Ron Mazzola in our lives. Someone who cares so much about his friends and community. Someone who just gives so much and has always been grateful for the friendship he receives in return. Someone who ironically enough has raised thousands of dollars for wonderful causes, but would be too embarrassed to ask for help for himself.
