Desperate Single Mom-Harvey Losses
DEVASTATING LOSS Continues... On August 27, 2017, Hurricane Harvey struck the southwest area of Texas causing devastating damages for thousands of people. One family seriously impacted was our daughter, a single mother with two sons who was ordered to evacuate her residence in Spring, TX, after flood waters began surging into their house. It became a life threatening situation as it rose to 5 to 6 feet in the house. They escaped with only the clothes on their backs and their vehicle. After the flood water receded, they found they had lost almost all personal belongings to mold and water damage and the rental house was unlivable. Like most people in the area they had no flood insurance. They are now displaced to another unfurnished rental house without most furnishings and minimal funds to replace all household and clothing items. Of course the most important thing is that they are safe, for which we are eternally thankful to God. While no one likes to ask for help, our daughter's family is in dire and immediate need of help because of this devastating natural disaster.
We estimate the the loss to be $60,00 to $80,000. We are forever grateful to the many generous and caring people who have already reached out to help this special family in need. We will continue to press on until this goal in met. Almost all household items will need to be replaced because of mold and water damage. This includes the boys' and mother's clothing, beds, small/large appliances, and all household furniture. All donated money will be spent replacing what was lost.
As Heidi's parents and as senior citizens living in Puyallup, WA, we are helping as much as we can from a distance. Unfortunately, it just isn't enough. If you are so moved and able to help a very special family devastated by Harvey, won't you please make a donation in any amount today by clicking on the Donate Now button above. This will assist our daughter's family greatly in getting back on their feet. I know you will be blessed by your generousity. You can also help by telling 4-5 other family members or friends who might be able and willing to help. Please share this post to assist in spreading the word. This is a wonderful opportunity to give and make a real difference in one family's life. God bless you!
