Desperate plea for help my family flee war in Gaza

Hello, I’m Angie Roberts from England. Due to the restrictions on GoFundMe in Gaza, I’m making a fundraising campaign for Othman barhoum. All donations will go directly to support his family. Now, here’s what othman has to say:

I am Othman Barhoum from Gaza. A volunteer nurse in European Gaza hospital. I “I have lived all my life in Gaza and I witnessed all its wars and ups and downs. Being from Gaza, I consider it a unique characteristic within me as a nurse that I am proud of. As you know, we were suddenly exposed to a hideous aggression and A fierce war that claimed so many lives. And I hope we never will witness a war like this.

Many of my friends, family and colleagues have been horribly martyred in the past few months due to a brutal occupation that has spread corruption on the land, and continues to do so. My family and I have reached a point which everything is inexplicable. We have been trapped in a maze of killing, Desperate needs changing? destructed home and forced displacements.

I have been working at the Gaza European Hospital since the war began, when i had recently graduated from the College of Nursing with a bachelor’s degree, and my obtaining a university degree was hindered due to the current circumstances and the cessation of life. However, I decided to volunteer in order to help and treat the injured. I have not been able to go to visit my family for a long time because the roads are very treacherous and they are targeting any health care worker who works to treat the wounded, so I decided to stay in the hospital where I work. Since the beginning of the genocide ,my family has been displaced several times in many areas. My family’s home lives near the Egyptian-Palestinian border, which is considered one of the most dangerous areas in Gaza because it was a battlefield at one time. Therefore, my family decided to move to the house of one of our relatives and then to one of the shelter centers in Rafah which is my home city. Recently we have been threatened by the army to evacuate Our home and move the west khanyunis and now I live as a displaced nurse in EGH , moreover traffic is restricted because no transportation to get there where is my family.The army asked us to evacuate to a barren area. There is no water or even food because the city has been invaded, and humanitarian aids are limited , we have to build fire all the time to cook food, and for light, because no electricity or power .

Everything in our life is barely getting by. Access to water for drinking, washing, and showering is a daily ordeal we can’t endure.

I have decided to stay in the hospital to do my duty 24/7, as there is a very severe absence in the medical staff dedicated to treating patients, and I continue to do so in the hope that there will be a glimmer of hope for me and my family to go out from this genocidal war, Maybe we can feel the sense of peace somewhere. Desperately, I ask you to cooperate with us. You will leave a remarkable effect of my family’s life .

This is the first time in my life that I feel that I am hopeless and i am one step closer to death. It is around me and I can’t see it. It will kidnap me at any moment even without realizing it. I am living the most difficult and harshest days, and I still feel that I am here alone with my family. We normally lived individually, but actually we die in genocide ,here in Gaza, we smell the scent of death all around us, and there is no way out for us but death or leave.

My brother hamza is a paramedic, he has 3 little girls as twins, they are 2 years old ,He worked tirelessly for 8 months in rescuing ambulance and saving children. He hardly spared sometime to spend with his family.Any donation, even if it is small, can make a difference and give me hope to evacuate my family as early as possible. I also want to mention that everything is urgent now.
