Desperate Plea - Help for Urgent Treatment

My name is Laura, and I am reaching out to you with a humble request for help. I am a 45-year-old woman who has been battling a very non-specified eating disorder for most of my life. This disorder has exacerbated my physical issue of severe reflux and IBS and made it incredibly difficult to live a normal life. After approximately 20 years of struggling and trying various types of treatments that are available to me (but sadly, local services haven’t been able to completely understand, help/treat my complex conditions) I have found a specialised therapy program in South Africa that offers hope and a chance for recovery. However, I need your support to get there.

My Story:

Living with an eating disorder has been a constant battle, affecting my physical health, mental well-being and overall quality of life. The extremely painful reflux and IBS have been exacerbated by the eating disorder. It has made everyday activities challenging and has significantly impacted my ability to enjoy life. Despite my best efforts, the road to recovery has been incredibly challenging. Traditional treatments have not provided the lasting change I desperately need. My Eating Issue does not fall into any specific category due to its complexities, which coupled with the physical difficulties, means that traditional treatment styles for more commonly known eating disorders have not worked for me.

Recently, I discovered a renowned therapy program in South Africa that specializes in treating eating disorders. This program offers a holistic approach, combining medical care, psychological support, and nutritional therapy. It is my best chance to overcome this eating disorder and reclaim my life.

The team of experts there has extensive experience in treating severe cases of eating disorders, and their success rates are promising. The serene environment and supportive community also provide an ideal setting for healing and recovery.

How you can help?

The total cost for the therapy program, including travel and accommodation, is £20,000. This amount covers intensive treatment, ongoing support, and the necessary resources to help me on my journey to recovery. Unfortunately, I cannot afford this on my own and am seeking your generous support.

Naturally I have really struggled with reaching out and starting up crowd funding, it really didn’t sit right with me. However, I've reached a point where I feel hopeless about having a fulfilling future or quality of life, leaving me with no other option but to give it a try!
