Help Tammy Get the Surgery She Desperately Needs

Hi, my name is Tammy, and I am asking for help because my body can no longer endure what I’ve been living with.

Over ten years ago, I was injured by a distracted driver. What followed was a hip replacement surgery that was supposed to help me heal, but instead left me in far worse condition. The surgery was performed incorrectly and caused severe complications that led to chronic, debilitating nerve pain and progressive back injuries.

Since then, my life has been defined by pain. Constant. Severe. Unrelenting.

Pain that affects every aspect of daily living, from sleeping to walking to simply existing without agony.

A Healthcare System That Failed Me

Despite years of advocating for myself, my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. I was told nothing was wrong. I was told to “learn to live with it.” Instead of corrective care, I was offered only pain medication.

In Canada, I have been unable to get the surgical intervention I need. Rather than addressing the failed surgery and resulting spinal damage, I have been trapped in a cycle of prescriptions while my condition continues to worsen. Living this way is exhausting, demoralizing, and unsustainable.

A Clear Diagnosis and a Path Forward

I have now consulted with two spine specialists outside of Canada:

Dr. Linkenfelter at 1st State Orthopedics in Dover, Delaware

Dr. Soloman, spinal surgeon in Mexico

Both specialists independently agree that I need back surgery as soon as possible. This is not optional or cosmetic. It is medically necessary to prevent further nerve damage and to give me a chance at relief and mobility.

Why I’m Asking for Help

Unfortunately, this surgery is not accessible to me through my healthcare system. I am fundraising to cover the cost of surgery, medical care, travel, and recovery expenses.

Asking for help is not easy. But after ten long years of constant, life-altering pain, continuing without treatment is no longer an option.
