Hi, my name is Lea and both my parents are very ill with covid. My Mama Lita and Papa Ed was miss diagnosed by a doctor and sent home with Pneumonia. My dads condition worsened and they presented to ED where he was refused treatment until had a covid swab test result - that resulted in a two day delay before being admitted. Once my dad was admitted my mother deteriorated and was rushed to hospital where she was refused due to no capacity. She is currently being treated at home and reliant on oxygen and live in help. My father has been moved to a dedicated Covid ward and has severe Covid case Pneumonia and abdominal pain.  It is expected that my dad will be in hospital for an extended time and my mother will be admitted when there is an available space.

Although we do not know how long both my parents will be ill for or how their condition might change, the daily cost is expected to be $4000au per day. This is a life changing amount of money for my parents whom are both seniors that had their income significantly reduced by Covid last year.

Papa Ed and Mama Lita have always been very generous with what they have and would never hesitate to go without to help others.

Both my parents are unaware of each others current situation. Papa Ed does not know the serious condition that my mother is in and that she is unable to get a room in hospital. The day they were due to have their vaccine was the day they got very ill, hence was not given.
