Desmond’s Medical Care For Injuries

Hi my name is TiffanyPruitt. My 10 year old son Desmond got hit by a car right in front of his school after school on Tuesday September 13th. My son was struck by a speeding driver, whom was driving someone else’s car Who did NOT have any car insurance at the time. I lost my 1099 job due to not being able to work as they needed me. I am a Single mother And I do not have insurance for us, our Medicaid got cut off as soon as I started working and I was told my DSS that it can take up to 60 days to get re-approved for Medicaid due to the overwhelming Applications they are still receiving. I have had many people from the community messaging me on Facebook, telling me They witnessed the incident and that the driver was definitely speeding too. My son Needs to receive Medical care due to his Head trauma and also his Fracture Femur bone. It is an absolute Blessing that these are the Only Serious injuries that he has gotten. My son was riding his scooter (not a power scooter) across the street in the Cross walk only 100 feet from school when he looked both ways, proceeded to cross, then as he was crossing and a man struck him going over the 25mph that is clearly posted all around the school. I was told he was atleast going 40mph. My son is being strong, he is Very worried about missing school, we are in need of renting a wheelchair for him, as I have been trying to carry him around because his cast was doubled up due to the severity of his broken leg. Desmond may have another fracture in his Ankle but we are supposed to take him to a Orthopedic Doctor asap so we can get more X-rays and for follow up care. If anyone can help in any way, knows of any resources or has someone else that may be able to HELP US and please do so. I am at a place where as a Mother I feel absolutely Helpless here. Desmond and me are keeping our Faith that God will provide, but at times in life we just Have to ask for Help!!! And I am in that very place right now.
