This afternoon, my nanny Danielle Desmarais got a call no one wants, that her house was on fire! Thankfully, her husband Mark, a Navy Diver, and their 12 month old daughter, Eva, were unhurt, but everything they own is complete rubble. (See the news report here ).

While insurance will be helping, it by no means covers everything they’ve lost, and it will likely take awhile to materialize. In the meantime, they need to replace their personal effects, buy clothes, diapers, some toys, a computer, furniture, and get their lives back to some semblance of normal. The Desmarais family are already overwhelmed by love and support from friends and family, so any donation, big or small, will be incredibly appreciated as they try to cope with this and rebuild their lives. We love you, Mark, Danielle, and "baby Eva!"
