Des Soukal’s Fight Against Cholangiocarcinoma

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

As some of you may know, this past January my Aunt, Desirea Soukal, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, which is an uncommon form of cancer. Des (age 45) is married to my Uncle Glenn Soukal. Together, my Auntie Des and Uncle Glenn have a daughter named Emberlynn who is 10 years young.

Des’s cancer was unexpectedly discovered after she went to the ER for shoulder pain believed to be attributed to a torn rotator cuff. The doctors saw lesions on the scans of Des’s shoulder that were concerning to them. Her doctors admitted Des to the hospital for a few days as they rigorously performed tests, took scans, and tried everything to determine the cause of her pain. After weeks of searching, the doctors determined the pain was caused by cholangiocarcinoma, more commonly known as bile duct cancer. This cancer had already metastasized to Des’s shoulder when they found it about 7 months ago.

Since then, Des has been undergoing on-going treatments. Des is getting treatments done as often as she physically can in order to beat this cancer! The constant battle with this cancer requires several doctor visits which Glenn, Des’s mom, and Des’s mother-in-law have been taking her to...which at the beginning was multiple times per week.

Emberlynn has been super strong throughout and has helped her mom with everything she can during this journey. Des would love support from family and friends in both love and prayers!
I created this page in case anyone would also like to donate and support with the medical costs. People may also like to support the family financially in order to support Glenn who has had to cut some of his work hours here and there over the past few months to be with Des during this time.

Any type of support would help Des, Glenn, Emberlynn, and the rest of our family during this time. Your help and support is appreciated by everyone who loves and cares for Des!

Thank you!
