Desi's Fight With Osteosarcoma

Donation protected
No one can imagine the heartache and terror you feel when you hear the words, “your child has cancer.”

Now imagine hearing this life-changing news TWICE!

Just one year after Shannon (mother) and her family lost 13-year-old daughter Zoe to a terminal brain tumor (DIPG), her 11 year old son Desi is now facing the unimaginable himself. He has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, bone cancer in his ankle.
We cannot imagine the heartache and fear going through their minds at this time and we are praying for Desi, his mother, his younger brother Remi and their family.

Desi had a port placed in his chest last week and has since started his chemotherapy and is expected to need several weeks/months of this treatment. Now we are asking for help. They now face a new onslaught of bills that are to come for Desi’s treatment. Shannon will be unable to work during his months of treatment and will have no income.

Any help you can give will make a difference for this family. Thank you to everyone reading this and sharing with the world.

Update on Desi’s First Chemo Treatment (11/09/2022)
Thank you SO MUCH to all of our friends and loved ones for your support and kind words, and thank you all who have contributed to this small family and shared Desi’s story.
Since his ankle biopsy and first chemo treatment, Desi has had a few check-ins. At first, he felt pretty nauseous and couldn't bare the thought of food. As a result, he was down 7 lbs but has since started eating again and keeping his food down. He has frequent nosebleeds and currently has a drop in some of his blood counts. (Platelets, white blood cells, etc.) with more scheduled chemo and extensive surgeries in the future. Of course, he endures all of this with a smile.
After a lengthy conversation with Desi’s surgeon, Shannon and her family are facing a difficult decision; amputation of Desi's foot and part of his leg. Doctors have explained that this would be the best action to be sure they can remove all cancer and decrease chance of returning. This news is a shock to everyone. We pray that whatever decision he makes Desi can be strong in mind and heart to get through this new challenge he and his loved ones will face.
Desi will remain busy with chemotherapy and other treatments for the months to come. Please keep this family in your prayers, and thank you all again for your support and love.

WE LOVE YOU, DESI!!!
