Desirée’s father, Luis Pérez, has died suddenly in Venezuela and the financial repercussions are astronomical. Can you help?

After spending a month and a half in December and January with her father, Luis, he fell ill right after the new year and was told by doctors that a pacemaker would be the only thing to save him. After discussing as a family, Desiree had to pay $8000 for the surgery. This should have resulted in a better quality of life and increased life expectancy. However, on May 11th, sadly he passed away.

As devastating as this has been, Desiree‘s attention has been forced towards finances - with hospital bills, medical supplies used initially to save Luis’ life, ambulance fees, funeral expenses, burial costs, travel costs, etc etc rapidly escalating. As you all know, her father lives in Venezuela. Due to the country's financial situation, everything is extremely expensive. Therefore covering costs has been especially difficult for her.

Desiree has been resistant to the idea of accepting help, and knows full well that death affects everyone. However, the costs attached to this unique circumstance have already escalated beyond her life savings and any contributions will help take some of the burden away.
