Desiree's Battle: Cancer and MS

This is the story of a woman whose strength shines through every storm, even when life has given her more than her fair share to carry.

Desiree is the kind of person who puts everyone else before herself. She is a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and a loyal friend, someone whose kindness touches everyone around her. For 20 years, she has battled multiple sclerosis, a disease that makes even the simplest tasks exhausting and painful. Still, she has never let it define her. She pushes forward every day with courage and grace, giving her love and energy to her family and those who need her most.

But recently, life handed her yet another unimaginable challenge. After suffering with stomach pain for over a year, doctors discovered a grapefruit-sized tumor in her colon. In an instant, her world shifted. Yet even in the face of fear and uncertainty, Desiree’s spirit never broke. She chose hope. She chose faith. She went into surgery to remove both the cancer and a portion of her colon.

While the surgery was a success, Desiree now faces a long road to recovery. She cannot return to work for weeks, and the financial strain of medical bills and everyday expenses is heavy. For someone who has always given so much of herself to others, this is our chance to give back to her.
