Desilva Family Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
On Tuesday, August 18th, the Desilva family was displaced from their home and forced to evacuate their beautiful town of Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz mountains due to the CZU Lightning Complex Fires. Kim and her family were in Lake Tahoe when they received the news of mandatory evacuation so unfortunately were unable to pack anything more than what they already had, leaving behind everything - all the precious belongings in their house, clothes, car, etc. We are raising funds to help Kim and Marty and their children, Whitney and Dylan, offset some of the expenses they are incurring while they are unable to return home and awaiting the news that they hopefully have a home to return to in the near future. For now, we are so thankful that they are safe and have been taken in by some dear friends.
Currently, this fire has damaged over 78,869 acres including 330 structures and is only 17% contained. Kim does not know when they can return home as there is no power or water in their neighborhood and they will be continuing to try and find a location that they can call "home" for the unforeseeable future. Our hope is to alleviate some of the stress that they face as they will need to buy food, clothes, shoes, toiletries and more.
As many of you know, the Desilva family are people you can count on when you need them the most and are a family that would do anything for anyone. They have taken others into their home, always willing to help anyone in need and are the ones that take care of everyone else, which is why we would like to be there for them in their time of need. If you would like to help the Desilva family with any of this financial burden that they will bear through this time, any donation would be greatly appreciated. All funds donated will go towards their immediate needs and help cover bills and expenses. Thank you for any donations and we know they appreciate it from the bottom of their hearts.
