Desi Sisco who is receiving a full hip replacement

A lot of you probably know Desi Sisco, whether it be from sports or his bright personality around the community.

Desi broke his hip two years ago and it’s been a struggle since.

He has been off work for the last three months because he can’t stand for long before his leg gives out and it’s a struggle for him to do daily tasks, something as simple as picking up his baby boy.

He will be having a complete hip replacement at the QE2, and will be recovering at least 6 months, only being able to return to work between 6&9 months. Dr Richardson did a forage surgery 2 years ago but it didn’t hold and his bones in his hip are deteriorating rapidly.

A few weeks ago they had a consult in Halifax and thought it would be 6-12 months before he got in for the surgery, but luckily he was able to get in to have his surgery on April 14th. He needs to go to Halifax Saturday night and stay in a hotel so he can be at the hospital first thing in the morning. If all goes well he will need to stay in the hospital for a few days, and then he will need to go to Halifax weekly for checkups and rehab. While it’s amazing that they got him in so quick, they have had zero time to prepare financially and it’s been a struggle since he has already had to be off work for three months.

He has a loving girlfriend and is a father to a little boy who will be 1 in just ten short days, and also a step dad to two girls.

I know they will appreciate any help they can get, whether it be big or small, and we will keep you updated on his journey and hope everything goes smoothly for him. He will no longer be able to play sports which was a huge part of his life.

There is a lot of financial stress for the unknown future, between gas, hotel stays, food, medication, things he needs to support him after his surgery and most of all bills.
