Deshawns fight against cancer after the amputation

Hello everyone my name is Mariah Moore and I am the mother of 3 smart loving children. My oldest Deshawn Moore who is an honor roll student. And had a great passion for sports and football, was recently diagnosed with cancer sept of last year and our lives changed every since he has a very rare cancer and is the 9 th person in the world to have come across this cancer it’s called Myoepithelial carcinoma. It formed a very large tumor on his right foot that very soon spread over to his kidneys and lungs. Deshawn underwent multiple surgeries and even had portions of his lungs taken out. With there only being two years of research on this cancer pretty much everything done is trial an error. His dr started a very aggressive regimen regimen of 4 different types of chemotherapy that deshawn did Inpatient for weeks at a time. After months of treatment the tumor and cancer was still growing, and it had come to our attention that the chemo therapy wasn’t working. On January 10th Deshawn got his leg amputated below the knee and still has to undergo chemotherapy to find a way to get rid of the cancer as of right now we know he needs a double lung transplant but we need to heal from the amputation. Life has changed for my family in a way that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. With all the hospital stays and surgeries and mental emotions going on life doesn’t pause. So honestly any amount donated would be greatly appreciated. And used towards my family, bills and all of deshawns needs and or wants. My son mentioned to me that he would love a motorized bicycle built for him to be able to still get around with his siblings and friends this summer . If I could make that happen for him it would warm my heart. He is a very brave strong 12 year old who loved doing various things around the community to earn money before his diagnosis. I would love to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us. We will continue to fight and beat cancer.
