Requesting your support on behalf of SFC(R) DeShawn Lynn Reed Durr, 49 recently diagnosed with Stage IV Mesothelioma (asbestos). She had no idea. Retirement physical and check-ups - still no idea. Then all of sudden BAM!; shortness of breath and an oxygen tank.
She is married to SGM (R) Durr. They are still trying to track down the source of the asbestos and have narrowed it down to Fort McCoy and Gunter Maxwell Airforce Base. If you and your family have been stationed at either of these locations it is very important that you get checked as soon as possible. Mesothelioma can lie dormant in your body for 10-30 years before it becomes active. A cat scan is necessary.
All monies collected will go to help the Durr family during this time with medical bills, upkeep of the home and other things as they deem necessary.
