Deserving Dana

Dana has declining health and has been battling since May 2019 of what we now know is Lyme Disease with 5 other tick-borne co-infections.  Her symptoms have taken her to an allergist, an infectious disease doctor, 2 GI doctors, and an alternative medicine doctor as well.  The latter of which is paid completely out-of-pocket.  Her symptoms have caused her to lose her job.  She has lost a massive amount of weight, as she is only able to digest a small handful of foods.  She experiences periods of nausea, brain fog, dizziness, chronic pain, insomnia, hypertension, hypoglycemia, and at times heart palpitations.  She has had a feeding tube placed into her stomach to help, but she is unable to tolerate much, if any.  She has a PICC line placed in her arm so that she may receive daily IV treatments.  The materials and medicine are not covered by insurance.  They are seeking out new treatments that are costly and require a lot of travel and time that will be difficult to manage.  She is wanting to try an inpatient Lyme facility for a very promising, yet expensive, treatment that could take up to a month to fully complete. 


Her husband, Patrick works with me at Archdale Elementary and is an amazing teacher and coworker. He is juggling taking care of his sick wife, their five year old daughter and a classroom full of second graders. His teacher salary is the only form of income due to Dana losing her job because of her illness. More than anything, Patrick wants Dana to partake in this impatient Lyme disease treatment and see her healthy again! 


Dana is an amazing wife and mother.  Dana is a registered nurse whose love for her patients knows no bounds.  Anyone who meets Dana knows she is a caring person who would do anything to help someone in need.  Can you please help us help them? Thank you for your time and consideration.
