Deseret's Mastectomy Recovery Fund

UPDATE

Deseret and her family are still in need of assistance. Des has finally finished chemo but due to the length of her treatment, she and her husband have both lost hours at their jobs and have bills they've been unable to pay. Their phones just got shut off and other services are soon to follow. They were recently able to attain rental assistance which they have been working on but even with help for three months, they are still a month behind on rent.

Des is looking for additional employment with little luck and Trevor has been trying to find events where he can bring his food cart. They just found out that he will not be able to get the cart fully licensed but they are still able to cater and do events. So if you know of anything please reach out.

This family of eight is looking for help one last time so they can get caught up on bills while they find employment. Please give what you can. Everything helps.

They are grateful for all the support they've already received.

Hi All,

Our warm, kind, and generous Deseret was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently recovering from a double mastectomy on January 4th. Until we get the results from the surgery we do not know what the full treatment plan will entail but she will be having another procedure in a couple of months. These will be long recovery periods, both physically and emotionally.

Des and her husband Trevor have a family of six boys at home, ranging in age from 2-18. Both of them are working parents and they rely on both incomes to make ends meet. Des will be unable to work for about a month just after the first surgery. We again do not know what the treatment plan will be after and how that will affect her ability to earn an income during this time.

Deseret grew up in Eugene and moved back here eight years ago. Since then she has jumped back into being part of the Eugene community as a whole, as well as part of the Oregon Country Fair. At the fair she has been a part of the QM crew, working with JYD, gators, and in the box, both pre and during the fair. She always has a smile on her face, an ear to listen, and a shoulder to lean on. As well as a band-aid, safety pin, or any other little thing you might need, as she is a mom to all.

Now she and her family need our help. Please donate whatever you can or repost this to your page so others may see if you can't. Thank you.

Happy Holidays!
