Des Has Had A Stroke - Please Help Us

Donation protected
Our father "Des Hocking" (the older gentleman with the bells on his bag) unexpectedly suffered a decent stroke on the 14th of June 2019. He was thankfully discovered by a gentleman who contacted a sibling after sighting him collapse into some bushes in Nelson Bay and stayed by dads side until emergency assistance arrived.

To this gentleman we say our sincerest thank you.

Dad has suffered severe speech and comprehension issues as a result of the stroke. Dad has since found home in a hospital in Newcastle where he still remains.

Our aim is to get dad transferred to a hospital in Queensland for his rehabilitation. Our reasoning is that Queensland is the state where 5 of his 10 children reside, along with a few grandchildren. We are hoping the more familiar faces he is surrounded with the better his chances are of recovery.

While dad was already planning to move to Queensland - this was sooner than expected and has put a sudden rush on covering the costs of relocating the contents of dads unit and storage shed along with the final bond clean of his current address.

We are hoping for any available assistance in getting dad to his new residing location in order to be around family and loved ones.

We thank you in advance for any financial assistance you maybe able to provide.
