Deryk Jones Financial Stability

Hi, My name is Chad Wegenast and I set up this fundraiser to help cover the financial cost of bills for our good friend and brother Deryk Jones of Local 720 Ironworkers during his next several months of rehabilitation. On New Year’s Eve Deryk was snowmobiling with friends and around 4:30 pm visibility became poor and he did not see the approach to the upcoming field and was launched 30’ in the air coming down hard onto the sled with very little snow to absorb the impact ! Friends were able to get him to the hospital in Athabasca where staff there could not do much for him but transfer him by ambulance to the Misericordia hospital in Edmonton and after further examination he was transferred again to the University Of Alberta Hospital where he under went surgery for his shattered pelvis ! He’s recovering now with rods in his femur and pins,plates and screws in his pelvic bone . Deryk will be in the hospital for another 2 weeks and will 3 solid months of rehabilitation through physiotherapy and it maybe 6 months before he’ll be able to return to work. We all now how fast bills pile up so please donate what you can or at the very least share this so it can reach as many friends as possible.
