My name is Déaghlán MacMaolain. I’m a young man from West Belfast that has been affected by the current suicide epidemic that is on-going in our own streets.  I myself and many other families across the North of Ireland in particular have been hit hard with so many preventable losses in the past few years.

As September is suicide prevention month I have took it upon myself to organise a walk from Belfast to Derry on Saturday the 26th of September in memory of my cousin Conor, my friend Robbie Mateer and the countless amounts of other loved ones that have been lost to this tragedy.
