My name is Mary Owens, I am the wife of Derrick Owens Jr. On Sunday night, Coach DO Suffer an aneurism in his brain. He is only 34 years old so it was very unexpected. After much long 4 half-hour-long surgery he is now recovering in the Nuro ICU. Where we can monitor him and his recovery closely.

Coach DO, is such a great community member, mentor, dad, and husband. He loves his players, like his own sons. He cares deeply for the city of Grand Rapids. Derrick has been coaching basketball since he graduated from Siena Heights University. He has now coached High School basketball at EGR for 7 years. He loves to be active in travel and make a difference in everyone he meets.

He has been fighting this for a week, and we are asking for help to continue his fight later by eliminating some stress from the financial standpoint of recovery. These funds will go to help with hospital bills and any recovery items or help needed.
