Derrick Gilliam’s Children

During a dark moment in our lives, we have been brought together and we have had the pleasure to meet and speak to some of Derrick’s amazing friends and coworkers. It’s heartwarming to know that Natalia and Jeremiah were his topic of choice. Hearing how he told others about our kids brings a smile to our face and reassurance to the kids that they were always on his mind and in his heart.

We truly appreciate that so many of you have reached out worried about the kids. Asking if the kids need anything or if you can contribute in any way possible. So, we have opened this platform up for anyone that would like to contribution to Natalia and Jeremiah Gilliam.

Natalia is 13-year-old with special needs, she has suffered from Epilepsy since she was 4 months old. That has led to a sever speech impairment and delay in her cognitive development. At 8 years old she was diagnosed with LGS, and will need assistance living as an adult. However, Natalia is the sweetest teenager you can meet. She has a heart of gold and is always trying to help out where she can. She has Derrick’s laugh along with his dance moves, and love of music. Her high energy and love of life always brought a smile to his face

Jeremiah is a 7-year-old rambunctious boy who loves taekwondo and soccer. Jeremiah has struggled with his emotions at a very young age and was diagnosed with an adjustment disorder. He is very smart but has a hard time regulating to knew things and changes. However, he is overall healthy. Jeremiah is very focused in school and always does his best. When Jeremiah gets mad, he gives us that “Derrick” look. Jeremiah also enjoys dancing and music like Natalia and Derrick. His only wish was for his dad to come down from heaven to see him one last time.

They both loved their dad very much and are saddened by this tragedy. However, they are finding comfort in each other, and that is helping them through this difficult time.
