On 10/9/22, Derrick was involved in a car accident, which resulted in him being air-lifted to Regions Hospital in Minneapolis. There he underwent over seven hours of spinal surgery and later orthopedic surgery. He remains in the ICU until his condition improves. Derrick has a long road ahead that will involve additional surgeries and significant aftercare to help him heal from his injuries and regain mobility.

We have set up this fundraiser for those who would like to help with a monetary gift that will go towards travel expenses to and from hospitals and rehabs. His family is driving to the hosptial (55 miles one way) daily and his daughter will be traveling from Northern California.

Our family is extremely grateful to all who have been supporting us as we navigate this life-changing event. We find peace in the love and steadiness of those in our community, family and church.
